My Dad

I would like to ask your prayers for my dad.

He has been having painful attacks in his upper abdomen. He has a loss
of appetite, nausea, and has lost weight within the past few weeks
without trying. He doesn't have a great health record to begin
with...diabetes, super high cholesterol, high blood pressure....

He had a CT scan this morning (8/31/10) and the dr looked at the cat scan and said
the top of his pancreas is very large. The rest of the pancreas is
inflamed like pancreatitis.

The dr. is ordering an mri to look closeup at the area to see if it's a
tumor (cancer)

Right now, my dad is at home-- only allowed to drink bland, non-fatty
foods...he is not allowed to go to work until this inflammation goes
down. This may require hospitalization.

The dr said if he finds a tumor and it's pancreatic cancer that there
isn't much else to do and it is a very aggressive cancer.

My dad says he does NOT want any chemo or radiation. He KNOWS the Lord
and I am so thankful that he is TRUSTING in Him. I am trying to stay
positive, but it is hard.

Kay Yow, you'll be missed

I'm very touched by the funeral service of Kay Yow, former NC State women's basketball coach. Because of her declining health over the past several years, she was able to plan her own funeral..and she even did her own videorecording of her speaking (from heaven)...which she thought was eerie at first.


I want to make my video someday...I think it would definitely make people cry, but they would see that I'm not sad...i'm gonna be happy and I will want them to rejoice that I am in Heaven.


I will want to tell family and friends (by name) that I love them and how I hope they will seek Jesus if they haven't already.

It is so strange how I think it's too early to make this video now because I'm still "young"; however, we don't know from minute to minute if we are going to still be breathing. I do not want to take my life lightly...I'm so thankful God created me and I want to live everyday with purpose and love.
